The Code of Conduct and Quality

Dutch healthcare insurers have jointly subscribed to a common code of conduct. This code of conduct presents guidelines for proper insurance behaviour and deals with the aspects of quality and accessibility. The Dutch code of conduct is quite unique.

In the Comité Européen des Assurances (CEA), the umbrella organisation of European private insurers, of which ZN is a member, efforts are underway to draw up a European code of conduct for care insurers. ZN and the Dutch healthcare insurers are wholeheartedly in favour of this effort. 

Such a code of conduct would reveal the values and norms that a healthcare insurer employs in his operations. Furthermore, a code of conduct provides safeguards for the consumers of healthcare insurance and makes transparent the manner in which care insurers operate.
